Technical Expertise for Dr Joseph Kimemia Dr. Joseph K. Kimemia is a consultant in the agricultural sector having worked with the Ministry of Agriculture, Coffee Research Foundation and Kenya Agriculture and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO). He holds a PhD in Crop Science from University of Nairobi, an MSc Agronomy from Andra Pradesh Agricultural University/International Crops Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) and a BSC Agriculture from the University of Nairobi. He has undertaken many consultancies both locally and internationally Dr Kimemia has experience and expertise in the area of: Coffee research, production, and processing. Crop value chain (systems) analysis and upgrading. Food System Approaches (FSA). Regenerative agriculture and Climate Smart Approaches (CSA). Safe use of pesticides. Stakeholder analysis, mobilization and focusing to an aligned vision. Participatory methodologies with farmers, extension staff and other stakeholders in sustainable agricultural development. Farmer Field School approaches. Strategic planning and implementation. Performance management, monitoring and evaluation. Capacity building farmers, extension staff and other stakeholders along the value chain. Capacity building rural communities on sustainable farming principles and practices, regenerative agriculture, biodiversity and environmental conservation towards mitigation and adaptation to climate change.
